Organic industry leader and farmer joins Wolf & Associates to support the firm’s strong growth headwinds and lead its expanded network of Organic Specialists
(NEW CASTLE, Va. – March 2, 2025) Wolf & Associates’ President John Foster today announced that Connie Karr has joined the W&A leadership team as the firm enters a period of expansion and double digit growth serving domestic and international clients across the full spectrum of the organic sector. In her role as Managing Director, Karr directly advises a suite of key clients and supports more than 30 W&A Associates across all service areas. Karr, who most recently served as Certification Director of USDA-accredited certifier Oregon Tilth Certified Organic, and as a consultant for Accredited Certifiers Association, brings her 28 years of organic industry experience from her own farms to serving as a reviewer and Certification Director. As Managing Director, Karr brings proven managerial, communications, and strategic counsel skills to W&A during a time of dynamic agency growth and momentum.
“I have been fortunate enough to have worked directly with Connie Karr over more than two decades in a variety of roles,” said Foster, President of Wolf & Associates. “Connie is a stellar manager, organizer, strategist, and one of the most enthusiastic (and fun) organic advocates I know. Our ‘Wolf Pack” team and clients are already benefitting from her leadership and ‘can do’ attitude.”
“I’m thrilled to join the Wolf & Associates leadership team at such an important moment for the organic sector,” said Karr, “I look forward to working alongside this talented group to help strengthen systems, build capacity, and support the organic community as it navigates what’s ahead with confidence.”
Karr knows organic from the ground up. She grew up on her family farm and now helps manage the operation alongside her sisters. She also operates a small urban farm with her friend and son and has supported organic certification and compliance efforts for hundreds of farms and processors across the United States and internationally. Other career roles include Chief Certification Liaison for Quick Organics, Certification Program Manager and Processing Program Coordinator, and Farm Program Coordinator. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Oregon State University.
“What excites me most about this role is the opportunity to support practical, integrity-focused solutions that serve the entire organic community,” said Karr. “ Wolf & Associates is uniquely positioned to help organizations evolve while keeping the core values of organic strong.”
“Connie and I are working in tandem at the frontlines of an organic industry suffering what feels like a kind of ‘whiplash.’ From cancelled or grossly reduced USDA grants to see-saw tariff trauma and certifiers scrambling to meet deadlines, it is a ‘push-me/pull me’ time for so many enterprises,” said Foster. “This is one reason we asked Connie to join W&A – she is a top-notch problem-solver in all things organic, and we’re thankful to have her leadership and breadth of experience. Her deep experience and pragmatic approach is just what the organic sector now needs.”
